Ice Art - Multi Block

The World Ice Art Championships finished up with the Multi-Block competition. These are truly amazing! The blocks they are using are so huge that they need heavy duty construction equipment to arrange the ice for their sculptures. The sculptures are all much taller than a person and in most cases 3x as tall. Here are our favorites for this year.

5th Place and the Governor's Award: "King Kong" - Monaco, France, Washington, and Wisconsin (This one is huge. It really needs a person for reference. You can see it is taller than the neighboring trees.)

1st Place Abstract: "Pandora's Box" - Russia, Ohio, and South Korea

7th Place: "Age Old Quarrel" - New York, Idaho, and Ohio

6th Place: "Subsistence" - Mongolia and Alaska

2nd Place Abstract: "The Three Graces" - Russia and New York

2nd Place Realistic: "Swimming Lessons" - Mongolia and California (This one is huge and stunning. It is hard to see in this photo but there are 2 baby turtles. The bubbles are a cute added detail.)

1st Place Realistic: "White Fang" - Japan (Chris and I love this one for its movement. Notice the wolf in the middle is balanced on one foot.)
